add-ons question

ethical

Question

Hi,

I currently use wmhap (not thrilled with it) and one of the biggest problems i have with it is being able to set add-ons that are billed on the same billing cycle that is selected for the hosting package.

I looked at the demo and it appears that whmcs has this same issue as the creation of an addon you create the billing period?

did i miss something or is this currently possible?

thanks

john

Hi Matt

sorry to resurect this old thrwead but my question pertains to this feature.

It seems there is a significant problem with this feature in that it AUTOMATICALLY defaults to adding on the add-on to the clients order? How do I solve this.

Would be better if it was check boxes instead of a drop down?

also it does not seem like i can set the pre-pay discount for this service? Is that possible. I offer a 10 5 discount on hosting paid yearly but instead of having a discount option (%) in the hosting products config , we basicallyenter the price for each billing period. Anyway to add something like this?

please advise

thanks!

Hey, this is how I did mine...

http://www.webhostmanaged.net/clients/order.php?step=2&pid=11

Now what I had done was I went into the "Config Options" tab and for each addon I just put the default one to be "None or Choose One" and had the price set to $0.00 this making it not choose for the client and it won't bill them letting them pick there own!

Make sense? This what you were talking about?

yea adding none or choose one does the trick, thanks.

There seem to be some real holes with this part of the script though. I think it really needs to be looked at again and incorporated in the main Product add-ons section.

e.g. A user can not add on one of these options after they have ordered from their account but then can do so with a product add-on, could be confusing for them...

plus being able to discount it based on pre-payment period needs to be a feature as well.

thanks
