innovot
Hello, We now need to look at upgrading to v6 and ideally wish to end up with a very clean whmcs directory, without any legacy v5 content left behind. How have others achieved this please and any major issues encountered ? Thank you.
Alistair
You would just need to remove all your V5 installation files except for configuration.php. You can then upload the full version 6 package and run the install process as normal. It's advisable to backup all your v5 files though, in case you need to roll back or if there are elements in it that you will want to upload to your v6 installation (templates, custom PHP files etc).
PropelMWS
Hello Innovot, I have not ran into any problems upgrading clients from WHMCS v5.3.14 (To be specific) to V6. With a clean install result (Then copying back customization's as needed) The only thing I will add to what Allstair already said is *If you have changed your admin path in configuration.php (Which you should have) then remove that > Run the V6 installation > Then add back the custom admin path and change the admin folder name, after the upgrade. It will make your life and upgrade easier. Trust me on that. Best, Trevor~
