Years free hosting then renews as normal, with standard product

I'm a new WHMCS user and I've been trying to figure out which of the many options available would be the best for my use case.

 

I offer web design packages and I want to give free hosting with them. The hosting packages are setup (with monthly or yearly pricing) and I want the design product to choose a specific one of these (this won't vary) that will come free for just the first year, then will bill afterwards as normal (either yearly or monthly if possible but annually is fine if not). I want to automate this so no package changing or manual settings need making. Also worth noting is that the hosting packages come with a free domain also, which will be included as expected.

 

Can anyone suggest the best way in WHMCS to do this?

You could do this with a promotion code for your hosting product.

I'm not entirely sure exactly which add on that documentation references but the only trial ones I saw were a few years since a last update, but more importantly said they would send emails out about upgrading and you needed promo codes and such. Is there no way to achieve this without needing to use this method? Bundling products together some way?
