pogopatterson Posted February 24, 2015 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Hi All, I'm relatively new to creating webpages with Mysql and PHP, and have been struggling with the fact that almost all the reference books I have been using to write code refer to MySqli and the only code I can get to work with my host provider- Hostpapa is MySql. I read almost everywhere that Mysql is deprecated, so why does Host papa persevere with the deprecated version? Is there a way to get their servers to read the up to date code? So far I have been stripping the (i) off the MySQLi functions listed to get the previous deprecated code, but I can't imagine that works for every scenario.
