rockface
Has anyone had luck requesting a root-level account on a shared hosting plan at HostGator? I'm trying to get the Configurable Package Addon to work but it did not state anything about needing root-level access in the description.
Alex - Arvixe
It is mentioned that root level access is required here: http://docs.whmcs.com/Configurable_Package_Addon Also note root access essentially gives you complete access of the server (every other reseller/account on the server, ability to delete/install pretty much anything and giving you complete control of the server). In short, you're not going to get that level access with a shared or reseller account. You will need a VPS+ for that.
rockface
That is the same link in the welcome email (after the add-on is purchased) Also, the root requirement is at the VERY END of the setup guide. It should state the root requirement FIRST ini the docs and it should be listed on the ad page (before you spend 69 buck$) http://www.whmcs.com/addons/configurable-package-addon/ Thanks for your help and I will think about moving my operation to you
