We've recently had problems with the way WHMCS handles the CRONjob domain renewal notifications based on nextduedate instead of expirydate. We lodged a ticket and attempted to get this added as a bug report but were unsuccessful. A feature request for this has been added previously by someone else at: https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/upcoming-domain-renewal-notice-with-expiry-date If you are having this trouble too, or would like to see this behaviour changed also, could you please visit that request page and upvote/comment.
