Cron does not complete

After upgrading to WHMCS 5.3.9 our daily cron stopped functioning.

The cron stops for no apparent reason and never completes.

I went through the docs, increased PHP memory, etc... and still no dice.

I created a ticket and was told to run 'php -q /home/user/public_html/admin/cron.php debug'

The output was:

Starting (Time: 0.65 Memory: 15.01)

Running Pre-Cron Hooks (Time: 0.02 Memory: 15.01)

Starting Generating Invoices (Time: 0 Memory: 15.01)

Invoicing Loop Domain ID 291 - 1 of 2 (Time: 0.01 Memory: 15.41)

Invoicing Loop Domain ID 228 - 2 of 2 (Time: 0 Memory: 15.41)

Generated Invoice #9961 (Time: 0 Memory: 15.41)

Generated Invoice #9962 (Time: 0.19 Memory: 28.87)

Generated Invoice #9963 (Time: -0.86 Memory: 30.07)

Generated Invoice #9964 (Time: 0.14 Memory: 30.07)

Generated Invoice #9965 (Time: 0.13 Memory: 30.07)

Generated Invoice #9966 (Time: 0.14 Memory: 30.07)

Generated Invoice #9967 (Time: 0.14 Memory: 30.13)

The response from support is that the issue is "something on your server".

Nothing on my server changed during the upgrade except WHMCS.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Im really frustrated because apparently there is nothing in WHMCS debug that even offers a clue as to what is happening.

Thanks.
