If you're a small operation then WHMCS should do fine but if you want anything "extra" then you're better off with a helpdesk like Kayako. For example, SLAs with automated escalations, front end troubleshooter etc Kayako also integrates very nicely with it's live chat offering and even phone support. From one dashboard you can see everything across all of your channels (for example, in a ticket view you can see previous tickets, previous live chats etc etc).
