Updated to 5.3.9, now wrong IP address for all orders

I was under the impression that 5.3.9 fixed IP detection issues, however on my install, it has completely broken them. After updating to 5.3.9 WHMCS now enters the servers IP address and servers host name for the order I received since then when it as never done that before. It no longer detects the customers IP accurately. Is this something that just randomly happened and the timing is bad or is this related to the new IP detection logic?
