Not sending emails to clients after order and activation

Hi,

i am using the latest WHMCS 5.3.8. I noticed that when i tried by creating an order with a client the system did not send email to the client and even after i activated the order it did not send the email but the emails are created and are in the admin end. what do i need to do. pls i need help.
