MySQLi or PDO WHMCS

With WHMCS announcing that they are beginning to prepare for php 5.5 i am curious if they have decided to convert to MySQLi library or PDO? Although still a ways off I suspect that when this happens either way, every module in the community addons will either need to be adaptive or scrapped from the list.

Where did WHMCS announce they are beginning to prepare for php 5.5? I have not seen any such announcement.

However I am waiting, being more frustrated for every day without any support for php 5.5. We have upgraded all our productions servers to php 5.5 a long time ago, except for the server running WHMCS.

And now php 5.6 will be stable at the end of the summer. This is getting old.

It was in an article regarding ioncube i believe or on their blog, i dont remember where i read it.. But it was talking about, in preparation for php 5.5 they were going to increase their install doc min requirements very soon to php 5.3.

You are ahead of the pack, and thats great.. nice job.. There are still millions of scripts out there on mysql library and im sure many of them are holding back as long as they can rather than update their script. This has been one of the longest transitions i can remember. Im sure there are even still people that dont realize this is happening and are going to be up a stream when they upgrade.

I wish WHMCS would just tell us which way they are going so that the dev of the mods can get started converting their mods rather than wait for the last minute.
