bollocks
Problem: The dutch registry for .nl domains (SIDN) have changed their policy in transferring domains and invoicing registrars. - Registrars have the option to pay and renew domains by month/quarter or year. - Transferring a .nl domain is free. It wont be automaticly renewed for a year as it used to. So we just had a customer who had his domain registered on 06/06/2011 at his previous provider. He moved it to us at 06 march... His provider obviously payed and renewed domains by the month so at midnight 7 march the domain was deleted at the registry. This happened because our system did not have the time to generate an invoice (it runs at midnight) send it to the customer etc... The solution we have in mind: We charge our customers for tranferring their .nl domain and renew it automaticly when its transferred. The technical difficulty is ofcourse that it takes a minute to transfer the .nl domain (if the client gives the right EPP) and the domain should be renewed after that. So there should be some sort of delay in the renewal... We work with Openprovider and their API. If someone can create this please pm me with a details. If someone have a better idea to solve this please also let me know. Thanks!
