SSL Certificate Options: SAN, long-term, etc

Recommended Posts

We're working on integrating the GoGetSSL.com catalogue of SSL certificates into WHMCS but don't see an obvious path for making all of the configurable product features (e.g., additional domains [sAN], long-term issuance [4- and 5-year certificates], etc) available during the order process.

We've already read the Addons and Configurable Options documentation and realized that there are some shortcomings (e.g., the price for additional domains [sAN] and the maximum number of additional domains [sAN] varies from one certificate to another).

Will WHMCS accomodate these types of configuration?

How can products be configured in WHMCS to allow for such variation from one product to the next?

Please, show us The Way! ;)

TIA,

Someone asked me about how we'd like to group/display the SSL certificates. Here's my answer:

We currently have 45 different SSL certificates from 5 different CA's (Comodo, Geotrust, RapidSSL, Symantec, & Thawte) defined in our list of products. The 45 certificates are grouped by CA but all 45 use the same module: GoGetSSL.

Ideally I'd like each SSL certificate to be defined as a single product (e.g., Comodo PositiveSSL UCC/SAN) with each/all of the options available once the SSL certificate is selected:

Issuance: 1/2/3/4/5 years

Alternative names, included: 3

Alternative names, extra: $12 each

HTH!

I also would like to know how we can archieve this. WHMCS needs a better SSL Management interface. :S

AFAICT, there isn't a straight-forward way to perform multi-dimensional configuration (i.e., to configure SSL products for multiple years and/or multiple domain names).

e.g., IIUC: When customers purchase a 2-year SAN SSL certificate with two additional domains, the unit cost for the additional domains should be multiplied by the life of the certificate (2x2x$).

I'm still working on it, though. :?:
