SWSoft buys Ensim and Hsphere... and Sphera

I haven't used h-sphere but found Plesk to be poorly organized navigation wise in my opinion. I always hate watching companies buy out other companies and sooner or later all the startup companies don't have a chance and you are stuck with one or two companies to choose from :(

I do agree about plesk, but i also feel that swsoft is very open to user feedback. Swsoft agrees that plesk has room for improvement (they admitted it to me in person).

Well that is nice info. Listening to your customers seems to create the best products out there. At first appearance I thought Plesk looked nice and as I kept having to go back home to navigate back to a different level, I learned they really needed to work on navigation. I am curious to see how they merge the 2 or improve each.

Is anyone aware of an CPs around that work well in a clustered environment? e.g. With Hsphere I have a CP server, Web servers (Linux and Win), mail servers and DNS servers. All of which are "controlled" via the CP server. Works like a charm at present, but we are just planning ahead. 8)

Pleask Expand may be an option... not sure how it will compare price wise with Hsphere though. But, then again, both are now owned by SWSoft so kind of defeats the purpose!

Cheers,

Paul

Hi kris1351,

Thanks for the info. Sorry, I should have been more specific. We actually have our own servers in Sydney. :)

The good news with regards to Hsphere being bought by SWSoft, I suppose though, is that they also bought the entire Psoft development and support team. So hopefully Hsphere development, support and pricing will continue as before.

Cheers,

Paul

HSphere is great for Linux/Windows. Yeah, the acquisition by || sucks, but heck, Comodo (the previous owner) wasn't doing any better.

HSphere's support was best when PSoft was in charge. Must be a hard business to run on their business model though (perpetual licenses)

I tell you, HSphere v3.1 is awesome though. I'm definitely glad I owned licenses (prior to the purchase by parallels)
