[DEV] Addon Module Configuration Values

So I can't seem to find anything that explains the best way to get configuration values in addon modules. The only option I have so far is just to use a require statement to import the configuration.php file, and then SQL statements to query the database for configuration.

 

Is there any easier way to get configuration details from hooks and/or addon modules?

 

Is there any other functions or variables available inside hooks that isn't listed on documentation?

 

Read through it many times and still have plenty of questions
