FYI... Database schema changes and can we please be notified when this happens??

Hi,

 

During one of the recent updates the DataBase schema was changed which caused my custom page to stop working. My module was reading the tblproducts table for the producttype column and stopped working.

 

Apparently the producttype column was changed to simply type

 

It is unfortunate that WHMCS simply changes these things without warning or notification. This particular page is displaying a custom view of all of our products, so you can imagine my frustration when I discovered that our entire Home Products page was blank due to a DB error!

You can assume that there are database changes when there's an /install/ directory present in an update. Within the /install/ directory, you'll find .SQL files with the schema changes; if any.
