Prorata Billing and Paypal ?

nka

Question

Hello,

I would like to use the “Prorata Billing”, if I’m right, this can make everyone pays on the first of each month instant of the sign-up date.

There are two options:

Prorata Date: I’ll set this to 1 if I want people to be charged on the first of each month?

Charge Next Month: Same? To 1?

What’s the difference between those? (Maybe my English doesn’t help me).

Also, I’m wondering, is WHMCS use PayPal Subscriptions (so clients won’t have to do payment each month manually). If yes, what will happen to the Prorata billing? If the guys sign-up on the 25 of August, he will be billed first only for 25 to 31 and then, full amount on the first of the next month?

Thanks!

The first number sets the date you want the recurring bill. The second number sets the day after which they will be charged the recurring amount + prorated amount.

So assume you have 1 and 25.

A customer places an order on September, 26th, 2007.

The system would prorate from the 26th to the 30th and add the whole month of October into the bill and charge the recurring amount on 1s of November. Set the 25 to 0 and it would simply charge the prorated amount and start the recurring on the 1st of October.

PayPal can handle this scenario just fine with subscriptions.
