The only difference is monthly you pay small amounts per month for the lifetime of the license duration ($15.95 - $18.95 per month). Owned (one time) you pay a larger upfront payment but you don't pay anything else in future for that license. Owned licenses include 1 year support & updates which you can renew at $44.95 per year though this renewal is OPTIONAL.
