joelie
What happened to the export transactions functionality of previous versions? The new transactions page is too convoluted and requires filters to get even basic information. The Monthly income reports don't cut the mustard either. I'm after a simple transaction exporter, similar to that in v5.2.2 and prior, where you could simply enter the start and finish date and export all transactions to a csv. Can the old one be re-instated or added in, or can someone tell me how to easily export transactions with all fields between two dates, eg. 1-Jan-2013 and 31-Mar-2013?
joelie
I've found with the new transactions reports, you can do it by filtering on the date column with a contains clause. It's not ideal as it takes a fair bit more work for a simple export of all transactions for a given period, but it's a workaround that seems to work!
kurieuo
Hi Joelie Can you tell me how you exported the transactions based on date range? I can't figure it out... every kind of date I tried doesn't give me any transaction data (I am actually using 5.2.5). I ended up using going to Billing > Transaction List where I can easily do a date based search and then copy and pasted the data to Excel to clean up Cheers - Mrs K
joelie
Sure thing. I just head to the transactions page (Reports -> Exports -> Transactions) then click the fields to include. If I wanted a 3 month period, say Jan through to Mar I'd set: Filter 1 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-01 Filter 2 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-02 Filter 3 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-03 Works ok, although I still prefer the old reports.
NetLink
+1. The transaction reports don't make much sense without a date range filter. Please add it back. This is a very important feature since it's used for accounting.
kurieuo
Thanks Joelie! I missed your reply back in July but came here again coz I'm doing my monthly reporting and came across this issue again. I was unable to filter dates to 3 month date range though. Entering 3 date filters had the effect of only showing the last filters data. e.g. my filters were set up like so: Filter 1 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-07 Filter 2 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-08 Filter 3 -> Date -> Containing -> 2013-09 But only the Sept 2013 data was returned, not July and August. I am using 5.2.10 (latest version) and am disappointed that a proper date range filter hasn't been added to the transactions export yet
joelie
Actually, you're right! I found this out myself yesterday when exporting the transactions in 5.2.10. I just had to export them month by month. I ended up with 3 csv files, but they were then easily merged. It would be much easier if the old style of reporting was returned that's for sure!
kurieuo
Hi all I added this as a Feature Request a few months ago. If you are having the same issue, can you please vote to move it up? https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/date-range-filtering-for-transaction-export I wish I could put all my votes on this - Mrs K
