ManuelT
Hello, I'd got a couple of thoughts, ideas and questions regarding the distribution of WHMCS software via partner channels. I expect that at some point this will become a feature request but I wanted to get the feedback before I start submitting them. At the present moment I think it's a slow and painful process to distribute WHMCS to end users so below are some of my ideas to make the process much easier, I'd be interested to see how other people manage if they have come up with inventive ways that I might have overlooked to deliver WHMCS to end users. 1. Software access: Currently software is only available to partners directly via the WHMCS site this means that WHMCS users are unable to access the latest builds directly and must wait to access the updates via the partner. This leads to delays for end users in accessing updates and security issues for the end users. Obviously WHMCS is a paid for product but it already contains a licence mechanic so physical access to the program is of no advantage. Even if we are talking about less scrupulous people who remove the licensing requirement they already currently have access to to software so nothing is going to be gained by making it more difficult for legitimate users to get the most up to date software. By making the software publicly downloadable WHMCS also gain the advantage of complete control over the delivery process. 2. Partner mirror: I've been told that the only current way to access the software is via the partners log in area, this makes it a relatively slow process to release any new release to end users. If a partner mirror was available it would be trivial to set up a local mirror to allow for automatic distribution to end users. What does anyone think about either the of the above? How do you manage distribution to the end users?
Sliffer21
WHMCS has ended the partner/reseller program. The only way to purchase WHMCS now is directly from them which will give you access to the download section.

While we've ended the distributor program, the reseller program is still alive and well. http://www.whmcs.com/resellers/

ManuelT
Where I say partner sub in reseller, everyone calls it something slightly different but in the end it's the same thing.
WHMCS Chris
Well, The distributor program vs the reseller program had quite a few major differences. From our end, defining that is important. Just adding a bit of clarity for this to avoid any confusion
ManuelT
Just adding a bit of clarity for this to avoid any confusion Absolutely, just from our end we are partners to some, resellers to some and distributors to others. I'm sorry for any confusion however now we do have a WHMCS staffer in thread I'd appreciate your input.

No apology needed - I understand quite well the difficulties involved when there's cross-terminology used. I appreciate your input as well
