nobaloney
What do you use to manage your VPS offering? Sorry I missed the mis-spelling in the title; I can't edit it. We're going to set up a brand new VPS offering, along with complete WHMCS support. We want to get it as automated as possible. Brand new is good; there's no old infrastructure to require compatibility, but it's also scary: what if we make the wrong decision? There appear to be a few modules available for a few options... but I'm not sure which way to go. OpenVZ with SolusVM, Xen with SolusVM, KVM with SolusVM ? Or Servarica with Citrus Xen ? Or something else I've missed? Which do you use? And why? This enquiring mind wants to know. Thanks. concerto49
SolusVM. Investigating OnApp and other options.
Alex - Arvixe
Most of the companies I am familiar with use SolusVM for this. It has quite an advanced integration (client-side) which is always a plus.
nobaloney
Those of you who are switching to OnApp... would you be kind enough to explain what drove your decision? And if you would, please point me to a plugin for OnApp; I can't find it on the WHMCS site. Thanks. openmind
Primarily HA and the ability to easily grow by simply adding more hypervisors/storage. With SolusVM you are more restricted. I'm also looking at VMWare as an option...
nobaloney
Can you explain what you mean by With SolusVM you are more restricted? Thanks. Jeff
And then there was one les
WHMCS has a module for vePortal (a parallels solution i believe) maybe this will help you out. No im wrong, its not parallels its standalone in its own right. http://www.veportal.com/products.html they have two products, one is for individual vps management the other is for the control of your vps clusters. openmind
Can you explain what you mean by With SolusVM you are more restricted? Thanks. Jeff Simply that it has no HA and development over the last year or so is not exactly rapid...
