iBlacK
Hello, I just bought my very first SSL and I have some questions. First of all, I want to know how you guys set up your SLL, by a subdomain or the entire domain? I mean, I want to use the following url for my WHMCS: https://clients.something.com/ so If I set up the SsL for the something.com domain, will the subdomain clients.something.com will also work? Also, I want to know If I can change the SSL information once the setup was completed. Thanks!
PascM
Hi, That depents on your SSL if you have an SSL that supports subdomains (wildcard SSL) then you can probably have your SSL on your main domain and on your subdomain. Otherwise you will have to install your SSL only on your subdomain. As for changing the information, i am not sure what you mean by that.
WHMCS Chris
Hello, I just bought my very first SSL and I have some questions. First of all, I want to know how you guys set up your SLL, by a subdomain or the entire domain? I mean, I want to use the following url for my WHMCS: https://clients.something.com/ so If I set up the SsL for the something.com domain, will the subdomain clients.something.com will also work? If you purchase a standard SSL for domain.com, it will not provide the validation in the URL as the hostname is changed when you switch to, ex: clients.domain.com. Thus if you do not plan to purchase a multi-domain, or wildcard SSL (these are fairly expensive), it's best to take a moment to decide which domain/subdomain/hostname you actually need it for. Also, I want to know If I can change the SSL information once the setup was completed. Thanks! No. Not without having the SSL reissued and re-installed.
