djkimmel
I have upgraded to v5.1.2 but the behavior is the same - when I give a sub-account contact permission to 'View & Manage Contacts' it does no good. The person can log in. They can see the permission under 'Your allowed permissions are:' on the My Details page but so is the dreaded pink-highlighted 'You do not have the required permissions to access this page' message so they have no access to change their own password, let alone another contact. After searching on here and trying all the settings, it appears that only the master account owner or someone given master account access can change any passwords outside of the password reset link? Is that true or am I missing something? Is it true that sub-account contacts cannot change their own password to something of their choice with master account permission? It seems pretty worthless to be able to give someone 'View & Manage Contacts' permission where they can even see they supposedly have that permission if there is no way for them to actually exercise it unless they have master account control. Seems to limit the use of adding contacts to a very few functions. I am using the portal theme with few changes at anglerhosting.com, and don't allow new clients without a purchase due to a smaller, personal clientele and some issues with fraud attempts I don't need to waste time on the way most of my clients do business. Thank you if you can offer an insight into this.
onpointsystems
Based on an issue I just encountered with this it appears there are three options for a contact to change there password. The first option is to request a new password using the forgot password option prior to login. However, the password they receive via email is the password they will have to use as they cannot change it. The second option is for the master account user to login and change the password for the contact as desired. Again the contact will have to use the password assigned and cannot change it. The third option is to give the contact sub account permissions which will allow them to change their password whenever needed but now the contact will have full access to the master account and all contacts.
