Directi WHMCS Reseller Account Questions

hollinshead

Question

Hi,

I have created an account through yourselves with Directi, and am having a few "issues".

In the settings for the domain module, it says:

CustomerID: You must create a customer in your Reseller Control Panel and enter their ID here.

I have created a customer in my account for registering domains and put the number in the box.

However everytime a domain is registered it registers it with the details in the customer I created in the Directi control panel, ignoring the details from WHMCS?

Am I right in thinking its the case you have to manually log into Directi and create a customer, then change the number in WHMCS everytime someone wants to register a domain?

Or am I missing something here, because I hope I am!

Regards,

David.

How are you checking to see which details DirectI is using for the new domains? With whois? or in the control panel somehow? My guess is you're getting confused, because WHMCS is incapable of doing what you describe as far as I understand it (and I've used the DirectI API myself, so I have some idea of how it works).

I'm not sure why it was messing up, it seems to be using the customer's details now, although I haven't changed anything!

I have a couple of other questions though.

Is there any way to make it create contacts with Directi as EU contacts rather than General ones, as it won't let you register an .eu domain with a normal one for some reason.

Also does anyone know how to stop it turning on privacy protection as default for the domains registered through WHMCS?

Regards,

David.

Just a question about the DirectI interface.

I notice in WHMCS you need to setup a reseller account, and a general customer account, and put the ID's in WHMCS.

Now. When a customer registers a domain, it sits under my 'customer' profile in DirectI.

Therefore, the customer does not have their own username/password to edit DNS servers etc.

Instead, I need to login and view all my domains to change it.

Is there anyway the customer can modify their domain without me having to go in, and create a new customer, and transfer the domain?

Hi Jaytyn,

Unless your client can login to your WHMCS control panel and change it there, then the answer is no.

Chris
