my employer has bought whmcs a while ago and he asked me to look in to why people can't register domains.

I've checked several things and have come to the conclusion that only .com's

What am I supposed to do, since I can't change the code of the domainchecker because it's scrambled... or is it as simple as a configuration setting??

the tld's are checked in setup => general settings => domains

and "allow clients to register domains with you" and all other options are also checked

any tips?

PS. it's installed on windows 2008...

I went thru the url you gave me and checked everything regarding to domain registration....

registrar settings are set to dotdns

pricing is setup the same for .com and other extensions but still the domain checker only checks for .com, while we also offer .be, .eu and even .es

Any other ideas ?

  • WHMCS Customer Service

Hi Interw,

It is possible to add a domain extension not available in WHMCS by default. Simply edit /includes/whoisservers.php and add an entry in the format:

.extension|whois server|match string

An extensive list can be found at DNAz.Net, if it not listed you will need to contact the registry to find out the appropriate information.

Thanks for your answer, this lead me in to the right direction in solving the issue.

Apparently the whois of some domain names have changed and I had to update....

Is it correct that if I update whmcs that all of this will update to the latest version?

And if so, does updating whmcs change anything in my configuration or does it break anything?

PS. Thanks again for helping out.
