  1. When running a business we all experience abandoned orders or accounts that are overdue. By default WHMCS will automatically manage these services and clients so that you're always getting paid for services provided, and your licence is within the correct tier. These features can be switched off by a privileged administrator user, so in this guide we will look at how to re-enable automated management of overdue services and inactive clients. When enabled, these features ensure the Active Client Count within a WHMCS installation reflect the actual number of current paying clients. We recommend using the following configurations within your installation to suspend and terminate any unwanted products, services, addons or domains. To automatically update the status of clients without any active services to Inactive: Navigate to Setup > Automation Settings > Miscellaneous: Select the "Change client status based upon active/inactive products" radio option Click Save Changes Having this setup will ensure that when the daily automation tasks are performed by the cron, clients without any active services, domains or addons will be marked as Inactive. They will therefore by excluded from the active client count used to calculate your licence tier. To automatically suspend products and services within your system: Navigate to Setup > Automation Settings > Automatic Module Functions: Tick the "Enable Suspension" checkbox In the "Suspend Days" field, enter the number of days after the Next Due Date you wish a service to be suspended. You also have the following options: Send Suspension Emails when the product is suspended, Enable Unsuspension when a client makes a payment and send a confirmation unsuspend email. Click Save Changes Once you have saved the above changes you should have something like this: Having this setup will ensure that when the daily automation tasks are performed by the cron, services with a Next Due Date more than x days in the past, will be suspended. The last 2 options under Automatic Module Functions are options to have the products Terminated. To automatically terminate products within your system: 1. Navigate to Setup > Automation Settings > Automatic Module Functions 2. Tick the "Enable Termination" checkbox 3. In the "Terminate Days" field, enter the number of days after the Next Due Date you wish a service to be terminated (usually this is a higher number than the Suspend Days value to allow late payers time to reactivate their service with you) 4. Under the Miscellaneous option further down the page, adjust the "Client Status Update" setting to: 'Change client status based on active/inactive products' or 'Change client status based on active/inactive products and not logged in for longer than 3 months' 5. Click Save Changes Once you have saved all these changes your Automatic Module Functions and Miscellaneous options should look like this: Now, when the daily automation tasks are performed by the cron, services with a Next Due Date more than y days in the past, will be terminated and the clients set to Inactive status. Thereby reducing the active client count used to calculate your licence tier. Once these settings are configured you shouldn't need to do this again in the future. Finally we recommend ensuring that the Cron is running and completing on a daily basis to ensure the above pruning tasks are being completed. You can view a guide on how to do this here: http://help.whmcs.com/m/automation/l/678170-verify-your-system-cron-is-completing-successfully When your system is configured this way then only the customers in your installation that are currently paying for services or who has recently logged into the client area will be considered Active. Inactive clients in your system will be automatically set to Inactive Status and therefore excluded from the monthly license tier calculations. 2. Reissuing - When and how to do it When should I reissue my WHMCS License Key? You should reissue your WHMCS License Key whenever you change any of the Valid Information (Domain, IP or Directory) or whenever you encounter an Invalid License Error. How do I reissue my WHMCS License Key? If you have a WHMCS License Key direct with ourselves, and you have an account with us, then you simply login to your WHMCS.com account here: https://www.whmcs.com/members/clientarea.php and navigate to your license key. Once you are on the page for your license you should see a Yellow Reissue button to the left of the page. Clicking this will reissue your license key. Please then login to your WHMCS Admin Area and the new information for your license will be updated appropriately within our system. If you have a WHMCS License Key from a Reseller, and you do not have an account with us, you will need to contact the Reseller you obtained your license key from and request they reissue your license key for you. Our Customer Services team cannot under any circumstances do this for you. Once your Reseller informs you the license has been reissued please login to your WHMCS Admin Area for the new details to be saved. NOTE: Development licenses cannot be reissued. You need to open a ticket with our Customer Services Team providing the new details for your license. Our team will then be able to update your license manually for you. I reissued my WHMCS License Key, but I still see an Invalid License Error. What should I do? Please ensure your license key is showing correctly in the configuration.php file found within the main WHMCS folder. If it is showing correctly, and you are still seeing this error, this suggests there may be an error in the servers PHP configuration. Could you please check if base64_decode is in the disabled_functions list of your server's PHP configuration as this would prevent WHMCS from storing the local license key file. It could also cause license errors when using a mobile app. If it is listed in the disabled_functions list please enable it. Additionally, WHMCS uses PHP's SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] function to detect the domain name for licensing purposes, so whatever your server returns will be used. Please ensure that the correct server_name value is being output to avoid any issues with an Invalid License. If you do not know how to do this please contact either your hosting provider or your server administrator for assistance.

    WHMCS template folders

HI All Client Area templates can be located within the /templates/ folder found within the main WHMCS folder. This is true for any version of WHMCS that you use. You would then choose the template file you were using. We would advise making a copy of the template you are using so you can make customisation's to it that will not be overridden when updating your WHMCS Installation. Please also see 'https://developers.whmcs.com/' for information on customising your client area to suit your business needs.

    WHMCS Supported Engines

Hi Talisker, What website engine is it you are using? Are you looking to integrate your WHMCS installation so your client area looks like your website?

    Plesk 11

Hi Guys, Support for Plesk 11 is being actively looked at by our developers, please keep an eye on our forums/blog for news as soon as a module is available for it: http://blog.whmcs.com Due to the modular nature of our software it will be a simple case of uploading the file to your installation, there's no need for us to release an entirely new version of WHMCS just for 1 new module. At the current time we also believe the Plesk 10 module should be forwards compatible with Plesk's latest release. For any information regarding Plesk please browse http://docs.whmcs.com/Plesk

    Billing options?

Hi, For sending out paper billing there are no options to mass do this for all your clients this would be manually and individually done per client. Navigate to the invoice and click the view printable version, this will provide you with a printer friendly version which you can print off and send to your clients.

    Shipping addon or something?

Hi Acerill, This can be achieved through Configurable Options. When setting this up ensure you use the Option Type 'Radio' and enter the $8.00 in the one time pricing box.
  11. Hi HospedRed.Net, Please open a ticket with our support and they will be able to supply you with an updated file to resolve this issue.

Use credti for a single product/adon

Hi Jamshed_11946, There are no plans for this to be implemented at this time. The features we add to WHMCS are largely based upon suggestions we receive from our clients. Whilst we can't implement every suggestion we receive, our developers frequently review our Feature Request forum. Feel free to submit your request at http://forum.whmcs.com/forumdisplay.php?12 In addition, every month we hold a vote between 5 feature requests and the winner is put forward to the developers for consideration in future versions.
  13. Hi Interw, It is possible to add a domain extension not available in WHMCS by default. Simply edit /includes/whoisservers.php and add an entry in the format: .extension|whois server|match string An extensive list can be found at DNAz.Net, if it not listed you will need to contact the registry to find out the appropriate information.
