I'm getting ready to import my ModernBill data into WHMCS. But I've been reading some information on these forums from customers, who in 2010 brought up several issues that I'm concerned about. I wonder if anybody might have any knowledge, comments or thoughts on these.
In this forum a guy said that importing from ModernBill 4 caused problems when he didn't have a U.S. State listed for a particular client. I have several clients with no state because either they're not in the US, or they just didn't put their state in originally. Does anybody know if that is still a problem with the MB import script?
Issue 2:
Another guy in this same thread said he had problems when phone numbers didn't conform to US syntax. I have many international clients who don't have US phone numbers. And a few clients with no phone numbers. Just curious if anyone knows if this is still a problem with the import script or if it has been resolved?
The guy here said that the import script gets messed up if you have a "quantity" of something. Like in several cases I'm billing somebody for maybe one reseller package but they have 5 domains, so I bill to them as 5 units of that particular web hosting product. Let's say this package is $7.00 per domain, so their monthly billing should be $35.00. This guy says though that when it's imported using the import script, that WHMCS will bill it only as $7.00. Apparently it doesn't recognize that the quantity is 5. It assumes all quantities are 1.
Issue 4: If you had created invoices in ModernBill for one-time charges, he says the import script changes the original date of ALL your one-time charges to 12/31/1969, and then it causes WHMCS to re-bill every single one-time charge - the first time you run it!
I'm hoping these have been fixed since it was two years ago that they were brought up. And it's critical that I know in advance as it will greatly change how I plan to proceed with the migration.
Any thoughts or information anyone might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
