jols
Affiliates allowed to refer themselves???? From what I have seen so far, using WHMCS an affiliate is able to click their own banner, and then get the 20% off (or whatever the offer is) for THEIR OWN new account signup. I am surprised WHMCS will allow affiliates to do this by default. Is there any way of imposing a limit that says, "You can not use YOUR affiliate cookie to sign up for an account that you own." Also. Is there any way to limit clients from combining offers? That is, if they have clicked an affiliate banner (to get a discount there), then they won't be able to enter a coupon code (to get a discount there as well), for the same account. Any way to impose a restriction in this regard? Thanks for any quick answers. Edited October 6, 2012 by jols
othellotech
A workaround, is to check affiliate sign ups and delete the affilaite commision link for those that are in their own account
jols
That was our conclusion as well, thanks. However, I did receive a response from my trouble/ticket that this would not occur. So now I am wondering which is right.
Troy
Even if WHMCS somehow prevents this, there is nothing to prevent an affiliate from referring themselves and signing up a new account, even putting a different name on it. We carefully review affiliate withdrawal requests to make sure, as much as possible, that it's not this sort of thing going on.
