Configuring Billing Cycle

I am new to WHMCS and converting customers from another system and I trying to get it mimic the following behavior. I am using version 5.1.2.

  • I want to generate invoices for customers on September 1st for the period of Sept 1-30th.
  • I want those invoices to be due September 15.
  • I want credit cards to be charged on the 15th not the first.

So that being said when I add a client and then go into Product/Service to add a hosting, I do not generate an invoice. Instead I add it then go back in and change the Registration Date to be Sept-1-2012, change the First Payment to be the same as the Recurring Amount, change the Next Due Date to Sept-15-2012.

I tried testing by invoicing the selected item early, and it ends up setting the service period to Sept-15-2012 to Oct-14-2012. I have Product/Services for the plan to set to Prorata Billing and Prorate Date to 1. Why would this be starting the service period at Sept-15 instead of Sept-1?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
