Bartucxp
Hello, WHMCS 5.1.2 came with too many problems, too many people complaining about somethings. ** If you're going to do this - do it at your own risk. Take a backup. I won't take any responsibility if your system gets malfunctional ** I've analysed database upgrade sql files and I saw there is no database upgrades that would make whmcs 5.0.3 unfunctional. So I tried this: - Get into maintaince mode - SQL command: UPDATE tblconfiguration SET value='5.0.3' WHERE setting='Version'; - Upload 5.0.3 files And it seems downgrade was successful, I am happy again. But there is a problem now; database already upgraded to 5.1.2 so you can't upgrade your installation after this process. If you want to upgrade again, you must do this: - SQL command: UPDATE tblconfiguration SET value='5.1.2' WHERE setting='Version'; (doesnt matter if you're upgrading to 5.1.2 or a newer version when released, you must set version to 5.1.2 in database) - Upload new files - Go for regular upgrade process(necessary if you're upgrading to a newer version when released). I hope it will be useful.
openmind
Or the much simpler solution, take a backup of your files and database before upgrading as advised in the docs.
ITSNev
It maybe simpler, but it will not take into account all the changes made to your database tables. I would appreciate a response from Matt at WHMCS if this is advisable to downgrade in this way as I'm having SO MANY ISSUES. Especially around updateing support tickets. Support tickets updates are not sent via email to our customers, after you get the fatal error and the fix that Andrew provided from WHMCS, fixed that issue but then no customer was able to register new support tickets. HELP THIS IS SO DAM ANNOYING. Bring back 5.0.3 as I Never wanted to be a BETA Test for 5.1.2 in a Production Enviromement. This is so POOR of WHMCS to release such untested Rubbish. I never flinched previously in doing upgrades as recommended by WHMCS as its usually pretty good, but this 5.1.2 is Terrible. Extremely Unhappy with WHMCS. openmind
So roll back to 5.0.3 using your backups then...
ITSNev
Phil, Backups were taken over 2 weeks ago and the database has change considerably since then, with ticket, payments, new orders etc etc...So rolling back to 5.0.3 through the backup is NOT an OPTION!!! The Backup was taken incase the upgrade failed and not to revert after 2 weeks as I've no way to apply the DB Updates again. If anyone else has more constructive advice, please share. Matt@ Comment from you would be good? Nev
openmind
So to get this straight then. You rolled out a new version into a production environment which by your own admission is busy with new tickets, invoices etc on a daily basis without testing first with a dev license to ensure it wouldn't have a negative impact on your business? My advice was constructive as I assumed you had only just upgraded. If WHMCS is so critical to your business and by the looks of things, quite a few others, why are people not testing the new release on a dev license so they can be sure it operates exactly as expected rather then upgrading and then moaning that all manner of things have snapped?? Seems like poor planning to me. For the record we have been testing this latest release in a dev environment for the last ten days and it won't be going anywhere near our production environment until we're satisfied all is OK.
ITSNev
Phil, Your right of course, but we TRUSTED WHMCS as previous releases have been fine and addressed many issues. But this one has been the biggest pile of **** I've every had the pleasure of using and their support has gone downhill also. I've had a ticket open since May and still its not fixed. Very Very Very Very Disappointed WHMCS... I will definitely be more cautious in future. Cheers Nev PS Matt, Are you going to respond to this thread for people that wish to ROLL BACK to 5.0.3
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 23, 2012 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 23, 2012 There's nothing wrong with the V5.1.2 release - sure there's been some bugs, there always are, but there are patches available for them. I would never recommend downgrading, particularly in this way, as it's likely to lead to unexpected results in certain things not happening or working the way they should due to database changes, and they won't be things we're able to diagnose or explain for you later on. ITSNev
Matt, Thank you for your reply, but how can you say this.. There's nothing wrong with the V5.1.2 release - sure there's been some bugs I've had no end of problems from the start, especially with ticketfunctions.php where Andrew provided me with a patch, which seem to address the issues in the Admin area, but then No customer could submit a ticket as they also started getting a blank screen. This is a SIGNIFICANT BUG. How do users such as myself get access to these patches, as we get our license through a reseller? I would be happy to switch to a direct license, if I knew I would get better support, but somehow from past experience and various promises broke, I somehow doubt this will make any difference. You support before V5 was second to none, I could not fault it. You were always timely with your response and always will to help, but since V5 its been terrible. What has happen with WHMCS as I for one, want the old reliable one back... Nev
marcoseduardo
Matt, it has been 10 days since I sent a question to the support but they are not responding. Could you see that for me? My ticket is: #302418 Thanks if you can help.
KevinR
I currently can't take new payments with Quantum Gateway, I haven't gotten a solution from either side currently and would also like to downgrade to 5.0.3 for this reason(there are a couple other bugs and graphical issues but they are not critical). A few others have the bug as well: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?51870-Quantum-Gateway-issue-after-upgrade-to-latest-version

invictus
There's nothing wrong with the V5.1.2 releaseMatt I don't understand how you can say this. I have had nothing but problems in 5.1.2 also and I have not received any helpful replies to my support tickets either, same as the OP here. I am finding new problems in 5.1.2 every week, but I have been told not to bump my support tickets and I am just waiting for the critical bugs to be fixed. Please, as others have asked - give us a solution to downgrade our WHMCS back to 5.0.3, or else address the many bugs and support tickets. It's not helpful to simply reply and tell us that there are no bugs when we clearly have major issues in the code of our WHMCS 5.1.2 installations preventing us from doing business normally. Step up and take some action please. Thanks.
