Upgrade 5.0.3 to 5.1.2

I have a doubt that maybe you can help me, first I am newbie into WHMCS

 

I would like to update from 5.0.3 to 5.1.2, acording the readme file say :

 

5.- Upload the new files to your existing installation folder replacing any existing folders & files

9.- Once the updates finish, delete the install folder from your server

 

Well, As the instalation folder does not exist because WHMCS was installed by my Hosting Provider ... How can I know it ? I understand that WHMCS folder installed should be not remplace, true ?

You should make a backup of your existing installation first.

 

Then extract WHMCS 5.1.2 into a folder on your computer.

 

copy all the files in that folder using FTP into the root of your WHMCS installation. You will likely be prompted to overwrite files, select yes for all.

 

As part of the files you uploaded will be a new install folder.

 

Go to your WHMCS installation and run the upgrade script. When that completes you will be told to delete the install folder again.

 

You should now be up to date.
