joedavis
Hi, When using the "Slider" Order Form Template, users can't enter a domain like "something.co.uk" with "something" being their domain and ".co.uk" being the TLD after selecting "I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain." They get an error stating "The domain you entered is not valid. Enter only the part after the www. and include the TLD." Has anyone else run into this issue? Thanks, Joe Edited June 8, 2012 by joedavis clarification of issue

Thanks, Joe i tested this, both with and without the preceding dot on the .co.uk and cannot replicate the error. However, when i place example.co.uk in the first box and leave the second empty i get the error you posted. Your clients are not filling the form correctly. I do feel this is a problem with whmcs however, domain searches should be a one field form and then the script does the work of making it viable to search, its more user friendly that way
joedavis
Hi, Thank you for your time. Users are filling out the form properly because the error happens to me as well. If you go to https://i7media.net/clients/cart.php?a=add&pid=18 and try to use the "existing domain" option, you'll see the issue. I have the latest version of WHMCS and the "slider" template has not been modified. Possibly I'm missing a setting somewhere? Thanks, Joe
joedavis
Anybody got any ideas on this?
Hal9000
It clearly is a problem with cart.php and it seems to affect all order forms which use ajax to check the domain. The data submitted to cart.php is definetly correct, yet it returns an error. Running the slider form and wondering why growth slowed down... Although when I set it up I tested it myself and it worked, weird... Maybe some patch broke it?
joedavis
Hi, I opened a support ticket with WHMCS and they provided a new dbconnect.php file which fixed the problem. Thanks, Joe D.
Hal9000
Same here, seems like the recent security patch has been the cause of this issue.
