Promotion code problems

Hello,

I am trying to set a 20% discount on first time hosting plan purchases, below the details:

  • Promotion code: giveme20
  • Type: Percentage
  • Recurring: no
  • Value: 20.00
  • Applies To: Hosting - Basic Hosting Plan
  • Requires: Nothing selected
  • Also allow existing products in account to qualify for promotion: UNCHECKED
  • Billing Cycles: One Time
  • Start Date & Expiry Date: BLANK
  • Maximum Uses: UNLIMITED

I've set it to Apply only once per order (even if multiple items qualify)

The problem is that when I run a test order and apply the promo code I get the following message:

The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet - please check the promotion terms

I would like to get rid of this message and also how can I make the code be auto applied every time someone buys hosting?

Thanks.

Is your hosting product really a "one time" billing cycle? My guess that is where the issue is. You need to set that to the billing cycles that would be valid for the promotion.

For example, if you only want it to apply to people who pre-pay for a year, you would set it to annual. If you want it to work for anyone who orders that product, regardless of their billing cycle, select them all.

The option doesnt mean its going to recur for every cycle, thats what the "Recurring" checkbox is for.
