Secret Key on licensing addon - im lost

Can someone please explain the secret key on the licensing addon, im trying to set it up. Is it designed as a prefix to the md5

 

for example mysecretkey + md5 = ??? ?????????????

 

in other words if my software was called widget then would i put something like this in that block. Wid1 and then the output would be encrypted Wid1+md5 key?

 

im not sure what to put in that input box, a prefix or something i want to be encrypted as

md5 or what.

 

can you give me an example please.
