domaincheap
So this is my problem. In South Africa we have a domain system where we can free domains (they are not TLD`s so this can be applied to all non-TLD domains that are free). What I am trying to do is create a free product range for select users. Something they can click on on in the order menu and order. I have created a customfield so the requirement for the free domain is met. What I am having major problems with is adding those free domains to my pricing. If you leave the price at 0.00 in: SETUP->PRODUCTS/SERVICE->DOMAIN PRICING The domain then no longer displays under the domainchecker. If you put in a 0 value it does not display, so how do you offer a domain without a price there? -1 and 0 seem to have the same affect. I thought I would be smart and offer the "free domain registration" to the two domains that I want to offer. So I go through the process of creating the product and making SURE to follow the steps to offer free hosting as mentioned here: http://docs.whmcs.com/Domains_Configuration#Offering_Free_Domain_Registration_with_Selected_Packages This is not the ideal situation but I thought I could work around the issue of not being able to offer a free domain under the domain pricing. Thing is now, the product is there, but when I order it, it does the domain check, and shows the domain is free, but still offers a price. This is fine, because when you choose the domain its one of the free domains and initially it is not attached to your pricing. I then fill out the custom field and click checkout. Problem now is that the checkout puts the price of the domain (I had to make it a value because if I make it 0.00 the domain does not display) is now displayed and it wants to charge you for the domain. The product I am talking about is here: http://www.domaincheap.co.za/whmcs/cart.php?a=add&pid=22 Any suggestions on how to setup a domain for free? Specifically I wanna do the .za.net and .za.org domains for free. I never want to charge for these for South Africans, so how do I offer it to my clients? Am I missing something very obvious? Hope I get a response
othellotech
you enter a nominal price for the domain exactly as per other cctld/gtld and then enable "free domain" on each of the hosting plans and it wont charge them for it.
