DNS Templates

jimmyk2

Question

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to setup DNS templates between WHMCS and the accompanying api module for either ENOM/ResellerClub/NetEarthOne?

My aim would be to avoid setting up any DNS/Bind service any webserver control panels, but still get the DNS records setup automatically.

Opensrs has DNS templates, but a client cannot amend/manage their DNS records with WHMCS and the opensrs API module.

If you mean configure the default DNS servers for new domains, yes.

If you're talking about creating custom records (A, etc), this would probably be best done via the control panel of your hosting software. When WHMCS runs the create command on the server, it should setup the DNS record for you using the nameservers you provided from within WHMCS.

I have seen that five default nameservers can be set in whmcs, but I am looking for a default set of A records / MX records etc. Via either ENOM/RESELLERCLUB/NETEARTHONE and the corresponding whmcs module.

If a new domain is purchased via my opensrs account I can use a DNS template that points A records etc where I want them to go etc.

I am wondering the it is possible to do this with any of the above registrars and/or can whmcs use the api module to set some default records when a domain is purchased. Otherwise a client would have to set dns records on their own - which might not end well.

Overall I am looking to remove DNS from the webserver control panel.
