password you entered id not strong enough

Recommended Posts

I have asked all clients to update their cPanel paswod however they keep getting this:

"The password you entered id not strong enough - enter a more complex password"

I tried doing what you recommend and the password strength indicator indicates a strong password, but when I submit it the server returns with . I don't think I can make it more complex than "@Otg3#nK9%Rfm".

What is the problem?

Have you checked Setup >> General Settings >> Required Password Strength? I would set it to 50 or, if you would rather disable it altogether (bad idea), set it to 0.

It is currently on 50, I was under the impression though that that number only referred to the client earea password.

Sorry, I misunderstood you; I thought your were talking about the portal since that is what this forum is about. If you have access to Web Host Manager, see Main >> Security Center >> Password Strength Configuration. If you do not have access, then contact your host to change the setting.
