rickenbacker
Hi, this maybe a very basic question but does anyone know how to stop the auto creation of an 'images' folder when creating an account? I'm a graphic designer but host a few Joomla sites and the images folder must always be deleted before Joomla will install which is no drama but would make life slightly easier
generic
thats a server issue, in cpanel, you need root access to the server, than you need to go to the cp3/skeleton directory and remove that folder from the public_html directory.

Not trying to be offensive generic, but it would be much easier using your favorite FTP program. Making the change via cpanel would be like punishment.
generic
no offense taken, but you should have read the question. How do you stop the auto creation of an 'images' folder when creating an account?via your favorite ftp program. you are referring to AFTER the account created going in via ftp, while your suggestion works, that is not the posters request. also its not cpanel, you need to ssh in to your server or use WHM with a file manager.
FLCaveDiver
Actually I was heading to the same place as you (/cpanel3-skel/public_html). It just one level 'up' from the regular '/public_html' that you normally log to.
DephNet[Paul]
But you need to be root to edit anything in that directory. Paul
Dominic
Making the change via cpanel would be like punishment. Who said anything about using cPanel SSH it!
rickenbacker
Hi, the trouble is there is nothing inside the cpanel-3.skel directory (except of course the public_html & public_ftp directories that are empty), any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
MACscr
Hi, the trouble is there is nothing inside the cpanel-3.skel directory (except of course the public_html & public_ftp directories that are empty), any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Do you have root access or are you just a reseller? If your a reseller, ask your host.
