gk-root
Description: AutoUnblock csf is automating the process of ip block removal for cPanel servers running the ConfigServer Firewall (csf) plugin. This is not the first autounblock module for WHMCS but definitely it is the best one out there. The emphasis in developing the module was to emulate the server administrator actions and automate the steps that need to be made on arrival of support request to unblock client IP address. ************************************** How it works? The main highlight of this module is the simplicity with which the process is performed, all your client need to do to unblock himself is to login. Once the client connects to the costumer portal his IP address is checked on servers with active accounts for CSF firewall permanent and temporary blocks, if block is found the client is redirected to the autounblock.tpl page displaying the block announcement and reason. ************************************** Main features: * One step unblock, simply by login to your portal. * Allow WHMCS Client Groups such as resellers to search and remove blocked IP addresses. * Log every unblock action. * Optional admin email alert. * Multi languages support. * Secure. Smarty template return the text output of the class result only, the user must be login and have active account on the servers. ************************************** Easy Installation: * Upload and extract the content of WHMCS_Folder.tar to your WHMCS system folder. * Copy the autounblock.tpl file from templates/portal/ to your active template folder. The Addon Module configuration are locate at WHMCS >> Setup >> Addon Modules * "Alert email address" will activate mail notifications when unblock happens if the email box have a valid email address. * "Reseller group number" separated by comma (etc: 4,9) Will allow this groups to perform ip search and will add the {$autounblockmenu} tag to your template so you can add it to this group menu. No need to install any files on your WHM server, only to install is a WHMCS Addon Module. Detailed read me file include everything you need to know. ************************************** Pricing: We offer 3 different types of pricing, all of them include free updates and support. * License only $29.90 one time. * License and module installation service $50.00 one time. * License, module installation and ConfigServer Firewall (csf) installation on your cPanel server $150.00 one time. For more information go to: http://www.autounblock.com ************************************** Tested with PHP/WHMCS/CSF versions: PHP 5.2 - 5.3 / WHMCS V4.5.2+ / CSF v5.41+ **************************************
taylorn
I would encourage everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS! I purchased a license, because it looked good. I soon found out that there were many problems. 1. When clicking "Login as Client" you are redirected to https://www.host4site.co.il/hosting-crm/autounblock.php - there is an error in the hooks.php file. 2.When you open the /autounblock.php from the client area, you get an error message every time, saying that your IP has been removed from the firewall etc etc (it is not though, and was never listed in the firewall) 3. Huge long white bar along the top of the page (no idea why) It looks like an empty div. 4. (Best one of all) When you actually manage to get it working, and you try to unblock an IP by entering it into the box, it clears your WHOLE csf.deny file - empty, zip, nada. Needless to say, I got a refund
easyhosting
This is not the first autounblock module for WHMCS but definitely it is the best one out there. you cant make these unproven claims especially when it look like its full of errors
gk-root
I guess the answer for that will be the same as taylorn receive via our customer support, attached quotes from our replies to the costumer: "...I'm sorry for any inconvenient, we refunded your payment. We are doing additional testing now and will provide you a free license once testing is done..." "...your server environment was tested with success. There is a new package available for download in your client area and your license key is still active and it will stay that way..." "...The static address in the previous installation file was the only problem was found, and this has cause an unexpected error..." "...I want to make it clear that the only two commands that exist are grep and kill. The module is using the csf cgi file and in order to remove all the ip's in the deny list you need to use the command denyf, this command is not in use in the module in any way. The grep and kill commands can be use only once per ip, this is the way that the csf cgi work..." The module is working great for us and our customers, saves everyone time and there is no need for unnecessary support handling for you or your client. As I explained to taylorn, there was a static address link in the hook file... we only humans and mistake happened, but this module cant clear your whole csf.deny file, the function needed for that task is not in any part of the script, the PHP class can only search or remove one ip each time. We are so sure that you will love our module that we are willing to provide to the first 20 that will P.M us free licenses key so they will able to reply base on personal opinion and not for any other motive. Expect for updates soon, we have a lot in mind...
MACscr
is it encoded? As many users around here feel the same way, i wont buy an encoded whmcs addon. Not worth the headaches/time as 90% of them are poorly supported or not at all. Which to me, end up being fraudulent. I am not saying you are, but if its not encoded, we dont have to worry about it.
gk-root
Yes, it is encoded with ioncube. Because the existing solutions did not meet our needs we had to develop a module to do exactly what we wanted. another thing is that we work regularly with WHMCS and CPANEL servers so you can be sure that the module will stay up to date. You can still get your free license, I can tell you with certainty that there is no chance that what has been described here can happen, like I said the commands are not in the code ...

Everyone has made the same claim as you have. Makes no difference. Free or not, encoded WHMCS "addon" scripts are not worth my time nor would i recommend them to others. CSF and even the commercial solutions that configservers sell are not encoded. What makes you so special? MACscr
well if its free and the dev goes away simple thing UNINSTALL the script or is this too much hard work for you My time isnt free nor do i provide solutions for clients that arent solid. Plus im just offering feedback. He can choose to do whatever he wants.

MACscr
this looks like double standards as earlier you stated which assumes if it was not encoded you would have purchased this and now you state how is that a double standard? If there is a high chance of something not being supported in the near future (like most whmcs addons) and its encoded, there is little chance that i would purchase to use to as a solution for my clients (aka, my hosting clients that would interface with it). I did not contradict myself one bit. If it wasnt encoded, i could simply support it myself, but since it is encoded, i wouldnt have that option.

They have pretty much nothing to do with each other. I never said anything about not helping out my clients. OK, im done with this thread, i dont want to take over this thread anymore than I already have. Your points are moot and have nothing to do with the opinions i have shared.
factor
How are new servers added? it syncs with whmcs server list, or we have to add them manually with whm remote key or something? Regards,
gk-root
How are new servers added? it syncs with whmcs server list, or we have to add them manually with whm remote key or something? The module is using the whmcs servers list with cpanel server type. You dont have to add nothing to your cPanel server, but you must connect as root from your whmcs and host your whmcs on a different server, otherwise there is no much sense in using the module because your client is blocked and cannot login to his whmcs account. Regarding other issue that was mention above, our support team worked with the client and the problem source was that whmcs and the client server was the same... anyway, we are using the module as well and we will keep support it and release updates to match with whmcs system.
factor
We have whmcs on a different server already, we use a different unblock module right now. So if i get it right, we don't have to run or install files on any remote server, servers are synced automatically from whmcs server list, right? they are cpanel server, with root login but no password filled in, it uses remote access key instead. Will it work automatically this way or it has to use password? Regards,

factor
Hi, We have installed it and if we go to autounblock.php page it works, but it doesn't get us there automatically when clients log into client zone as it is supposed to do. We haven't added any reseller group as all users are created under root, it is due to that? Regards,
pbnet
I too would buy if was not encoded. There are several key reasons for it... - If you disappear, so does this solution - It's increasingly difficult to auto-trust developers... there's so much sensitive data. - There would be no way to improve, modify, or fix it by ourselves If you decide to sell as full source, PM me. Thanks
PingEx.com
Have been trying to use on whmcs v5.0.2 but it seams to freeze pages when installed. Disabled all mods and renabled this one with it happening again. Anyone have any luck with it on 5.0.2? Dave
factor
Nearly 3 weeks waiting for a reply to my ticket on their support desk, it's "in progress". It works if client goes to csf unblock page, but not just when logging into whmcs automatically as it is supposed to do. Waits like you are going through are why developers encoding their scripts should be considered fraud. Unless you can dedicated 2-3 hours per day answering tickets, do not set price points to high numbers. If it were an encoded $2 addon, you get what you pay for. If it's $30 unencoded then fix whatever problems you're having yourself and let the community improve it. I've found the alarming increase of encoded scripts unfortunate. Too many people trying to make a quick buck and knowing all to well they cannot support it like they should with high price points

What happens when someone just posts all the unencoded modules up on a torrent or other file sharing site? Many people will simply bypass purchasing the script and go for the cheap way out. Theres no reason to believe that people are honest, particularly in the web hosting industry. I would venture to say the vast majority of web hosts are out for a quick buck, and will cut corners whenever possible. Theres just so much fraud going around, that developers will try to protect their property as best as possible. I have nothing against encoded software. But then again, I would only purchase modules from a reputable source. I encode most of my modules as well, but typically offer them unencoded for an additional cost. This additional cost typically is enough to weed out anyone buying them with the intent on publicly releasing the software or attempting to rebrand/resell it.
