Integrating Plesk tutorials.

place a link to the tutorial page on your support home page or knowledgebase area.

in the tutorials.tpl template page, simply edit the links and description to suit each one of the tutorials you purchased.... that's as simple as creating links.

Yeah, thats the thing. I don't want links to the tutorials. I want it so that when they click the knowledgebase article, that the tutorial starts. I don't think that is possible though, guess I'll have to use a link.

To do this, I think you need some sort of "automatic forwarder" in place on that knowledgebase article's page, so that visitors would automatically be redirected to the tutorial when they click through to that page. I'm not sure if that's possible though.... perhaps Matt or someone else more familiar with how the knowledgebase works can suggest how it can be done.

Personally though, I think the flash tutorials are best "linked-to" from knowledgebase articles.... and used more as "supporting videos". For direct links to the tutorials, customers can use the "Flash Tutorials" icon/link in the main WHMCS page.... presuming you have the tutorials.tpl file setup.

Does this help?

Rob.

Why wouldn't this be possible? it's just a flash file, and you can embed the src link in any html ... including the kb article

Oh yes, that is right nerbonne...

The HTML editor that is used actually will strip out parts of valid markup as an attempt to safeguard or prevent injection or xss. You either must edit the JS and php of the editor, or manually just insert your markup into the database.

I have successfully added my cpanel tutorials into the KB by doing it through the DB. However - note of warning - once entered, don't go to edit it through the admin area as it will not show up and will wipe out the tutorial in the DB. Always make your edits there.

The TinyMC or whatever the WYSYWYG WHMCS uses, has a built in flash / object insert tag that can easily be added which I mentioned to Matt and they are looking into possibly turning it on. It's a real simple fix sort of.
