rbro
I'm not sure what to enter under "default nameservers" when setting up enom for domain registrations. Since we have different nameservers depending on what server the domain will live on, it will change. Doesn't whmcs pull the info from the server somehow?
trine
yes, default nameservers are specified under each server you enter in your server configuration
rbro
yes, default nameservers are specified under each server you enter in your server configuration OK, so what should be entered into the Default Nameserver fields for the registrar configuration, or does it not really matter?

You enter the nameservers you want by default used for your domain registrations In a small-host setup these would normally be the nameservers of your server .e.g ns1.myhost.org ns2.myhost.org In order for the domain registration to go through these *must* have already been registered with their associated IPs at your registrar, and be resolvable.

I forget how it's done in MB, but depending on what server the account is being created on, the nameservers are different, so in other words if an account is being created on server 1, the nameservers would be ns1 and ns2.myhost.org, but if it's a reseller acct being created on server 2, the nameservers should be ns3 and ns4.myhost.org. Is there a per server setting somewhere that overrides the default nameservers?
othellotech
you can have a domain without hosting, but yes, you can specify the nameservers used for each server
rbro
you can have a domain without hosting, but yes, you can specify the nameservers used for each server OK and the nameservers specified for whatever server the account is about to be created on will override the default nameservers? And if that's the case, does it give the customer the option of setting the nameservers as part of the ordering process or does it just automatically fill it in for them?
trine
yes, it uses the one in the server setup. when you click on a domain name in the customer panel, you can change the NS servers
