Configuration file and Installation

Hello,

A lesson learned. I read the instructions to backup your SQL. I did not realize I should have backed up the actual folders as the would get over written.

I downloaded the latest version. Unzipped it and because the name of the file was the same as an older version of WHmcs it wrote over the file folders. Figure this should be no problem. However, the old version had a configuration.php file that was blank. So I had all the new files and this old one, which I did not realize was there.

So when I uploaded the new files, up went the blank config. file. I'm now all messed up and cannot use the program.

Please rename all future versions of WHMCS by their version number. So when you download and unzip it does not simply write over an older version you may have on your local drive. I may not be the only who inadvertently did this.

Now, is there any solution to save my data? I have the backup SQL. I do not use credit cards for clients, Only Paypal.

Thanks
