readywire
Has anyone been able to get the new "PayPal Pro Reference Payments" module to function properly? I have a client who is trying to to use this module but keeps receiving declines and the following error in the gateway log: This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid Credit Card Verification Number. He told me that one transaction went through, but a recurring billing profile didn't get created in PayPal. Thanks for your help in sorting this out. EDIT: I should note, the CCV # was entered during the initial transaction and an approval was received. Now, when he attempts to bill again for the next month of service, the above decline was received. readywire
Ok, solved my own question! Here's the scoop on using the PayPal Pro Reference Payments module with your PayPal Website Payments Pro account. According to the description, Matt's new module enables you to process recurring billing using your PayPal Website Payments Pro account using what PayPal calls a "reference transaction." According to PayPal, a "reference transaction" is something completely different than recurring billing. As such, even if you have a Website Payments Pro account and have also purchased the Recurring Billing service, you're also going to have to phone or write to PayPal and request that "reference transactions" be enabled for your account. Without enabling reference transactions, this module will not work as specified. So...does it work? My client called PayPal this morning and was told that it may take up to 24 hours for them to decide whether or not to enable reference payments. I'll update this thread and let you know what happens.

AfterDawn
It does, but it does not pull the fees in like the WPP module does.
AfterDawn
I started a thread about pulling in the fees here: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?57450-Automate-Paypal-Reference-Payments-Fees If anyone has a contribution, please let me know.
