Download Database Backup Corrupt

Recommended Posts

Since upgrading to v4.5.1 when I download a backup of the database from within WHMCS (Utilities ->Database Status->Download Database Backup) the .zip file is corrupt and can't be opened.

This worked perfectly on recent previous versions.

As a test I downloaded a zipped version of the database from PHPMyAdmin, and no issues whatsoever opening it.

What is the size of your database? Did you check if your max_execution_time and memory_limit are too low for your DB size?

It could be either this or your browser / connection (very unlikely)

Do you have any problems with Automated DB backup feature of WHMCS?

Thanks, I realize you may be trying to help, but I submitted this as a bug report for a reason. I've used WHMCS since 2005. Downloading a copy of the db to my local machine was never an issue until *after* I upgraded to v4.5.1. I manually downloaded a copy of the db *before* the upgrade, as is customary, and no issues with that.

The db is only 2.5MB. I've had the automated built-in backup going since it was first included in WHMCS, which if memory serves was late 2009, with no issues.

We haven't had any other reports of this one and I'm not able to reproduce it here so might be worth opening a ticket if this is still an issue for you.

Matt

Yes, it is still an issue (I just checked), but I would suspect it's one of those features that most use rarely...typically only before an upgrade, so I wouldn't expect a flurry of "Me too" 's.

Thanks for the reply.

It's belated, but "Me Too!". I've not been referring to the backups at all since installation so I can't be sure when they stopped working, but the archives coming out of WHMCS for me are corrupt.

I'll raise a ticket.

Regards

Matthew
