d4xdragon
Hi All, i am not sure weather WHMCS is lacking this feature or i could not find the proper way to use WHMCS. Consider multipal Domain Registrars. in my case i have Nominet OnlineNic Enom all three offer ID Protection, now issue is all three have different Prices for ID Protection, but in WHMCS ID Protect has one Price so no matter what Domain Registrar the Addon will apply same Price, which is a bit unfair for customers. i am not sure but i think ID Protection Price should be on Registrar based, some Registrars give ID Protect for Free, and some charges Big Number. so there should be ID protection with registrar so that one can charge different amounts for ID Protection. Is this a feature request ? Thanks Dragon
dexus
Yes, I agree that should definitely be configurable per registrar or maybe even per tld, but currently implemented method with one price for all domains/registrars is not a good solution. This thread should be moved to Feature Request forum.
hostleet
Try and set your price, which would cover all your costs with all 3 registrars. So if the highest you pay for ID protection with your registrar is $8.00, then make your price $10.00 and you will always cover your costs no matter what registrar you use for the client. Plus, you don't want to display different prices for ID protection on your website, have one set price and you're good to go.

We are obviosly already doing that, because that is currently the only way, but that is exactly what we don't want to do any more...
sohouk
The snag with fixing one price is that with UK names, most people know that the whois opt-out is free and may falter at paying for that. On a connected matter, Nominet (in their wisdom) only allow individuals to opt out (not commercial enterprises), so it might be good to have some sort of checking before ordering. WHMCS Developer WHMCS Andrew Posted April 14, 2011 WHMCS Developer Share Posted April 14, 2011 The snag with fixing one price is that with UK names, most people know that the whois opt-out is free and may falter at paying for that. UK domains don't support the ID Protection, it is only compatible with certain domain extensions, so you wouldn't offer it on a .UK domain anyway
sohouk
They offer opting out which conceals the whois data.
