Best Canadian Payment Gateway for WHMCS

jordanrynard

Question

Can anyone recommend a decent merchant gateway (offered to Canada), that works 100% with WHMCS and WHMCS's native recurring billing?

I'm not looking for a third party gateway - but a merchant gateway (and/or one with tokenisation).

One that works directly on the site/domain without redirecting to a third party site.

I'm desperate, as the folks at paypal refuse to allow my Paypal Payments Pro account to process payments without the CSC.

We use InternetSecure merchant gateway and it's working wonderfully. We have developed modules to make use of 3D Secure and Interac Online exclusively for WHMCS/InternetSecure (search the forum for more info), which makes it the best integrated gateway for Canadian merchants. It also supports recurring payments, and they have a very low fee structure.

IS also has the ability to process in both USD and CAD, and have multiple accounts for different business names. They also deposit funds daily to your bank account, so there is absolutely no downside.

Unfortunately PsiGate is no longer the company it used to be. Home Trust bought them out. I was with them for well over ten years and there were just too many mistakes and odd charges taken from my account that continue to be unexplained. They change their policies a lot and fail to inform their customers of these changes.

The biggest problem with PsiGate is that their support is awful. They only have one guy handling support inquiries and it takes weeks to get one reply; which is a big deal if you do a lot of billing transactions.

I certainly do understand your frustration with Finding a merchant gateway for WHMCS , I have been down the exact same path which was certainly becoming quite expensive in setting up accounts , I have used Authorize.net CIM module that actually worked perfectly and without a problem at all , except for everything being in US funds it was a nightmare for the customers in not being able to get totals to match up.

Paypal payments pro required to much manual work and wasn't worth it at all.

considering all the wasted time and money trying to experiment in a solution that was working , we decided to go With Moneirs and there Vault technology , however this was done with the expert help of WHMCS in making an API to have the two systems talk , quite simple Moneris (which is owned by RBC and BMO banks) stores the credit card on there server taking all PCI compliance of the credit card storage , our whmcs system just triggers the Moneris system to bill the card and send the response to us , easy and always works , can be used for recurring bills all automatic or one off purchases for whatever...

in two years i have been through 6-8 different companies filled out boat loads of paperwork and hours of wasted time , we have retails stores as well though to which why moneris makes sense for us as all our store terminals are also moneris. i can't comment on the rates specifically because of that tie in with other accounts.

you can check out some information here however from Moneris , if you want stability from a major player look no further.

mezzo who are you using now then? IS appears to have been bought out as well by Elavon...

also did you ever get WHMCS to use the recurring billing option of PSigate, so your not storing card data in WHMCS?

sigh i've been looking into this pci stuff and realize it will be easier if I can use the recurring billing feature of payment processors than storing the card data myself....
