Heart Internet Domain Management

s4wdweb

Question

Hi Folks, first post here. The forums seem fantastic so hoping to get some help.

I'm still on my 15 day trial license to evaluate using WHMCS with Heart Internet/HostPay and was wondering if anyone has been able to do anything inside of WHMCS to add Domain Management?

I know they have a module which I have and have installed and have working etc, but would really like the ability for clients to manage their domain.

Even if not inside of WHMCS, but a link to the Domain Management site Heart have.

They do have API for this which I have found, but have to admit to not being an API expert so was wondering if anyone has managed this at all?

Cheers

David

What management options do you require that are missing ? Largely the only things to "manage" on a domain are renewal date, nameservers and registrant contact.

That's pretty much what I want the ability to do. Heart do have a domain where by customers can log in and manage their domain, but want it so it can all be done in one place.

I guess the thing to do is to create a link that has a pre-authorised log in like they have in the My Services section that takes them to the control panel, buy because I can't read what is in the module due to the encryption I can't figure out how to add this to the manage domain page.

It will ultimately be the same piece of code but pointing to a different domain.

I wasn't aware it is possible to link HostPay with WHMCS

Equally that seems pointless as there would be a lot of duplication

Your clients can control their Domain Names through the Domain Name Control Panel, plus through the template you can set this up to be a sub-Domain Name of your hosting account Domain Name

Thus only one login is required for both interfaces

Unfortunately Heart's API is quite limited and doesn't support domain management so the module in WHMCS supports everything their API offers in terms of domains but it should be possible to add a link to their domain management panel if that's the only way for domains to be managed. Open a ticket and we'll take a look at it.
