Transfer a domain "after" the site was set up

Obviously I'm doing something wrong here but I can't figure it out.

Client signed up and we created her site. Initially she just changed nameservers and her old registrar.

Then she decided to transfer the domain to me. So I added a new order in the admin panel for her. Got the epp code, initiated the order and sent the invoice, which she paid.

Then I got the message that the transfer failed. I went into the admin panel and two things.

1. It says there is no website associated with the domain

2. When I click the transfer button it come back with the error:

{telno=Telephone Country Code/Telephone No. is invalid. Please note that only digits are allowed, name=Name is invalid., emailaddr=Emailaddr is invalid., zip=Zip is empty, address1=Address1 is invalid., country=Country is invalid., city=City is invalid.}

So how can I get this to 1. transfer, and 2. be attached to her existing site.

Thank you

You need to make sure your client's personal info with you matches the info they have with the old registrar. Then make sure the domain name is UNLOCKED and does NOT have WHOIS protection enabled before you initiate the transfer process.

If you do these things and the info is correct, you shouldn't have any problems. What domain registrar do you use?

thank you for responding hostleet,

All of the data does match. Initially the domain was locked at bravenet - finally go it unlocked but it still didn't work. Bravenet then said that her privacy settings were the issue. Turned off that setting at bravenet and they say that it should now work. But we are getting the same error.

I'm really at a loss as to what to do with this.
