PowerDNS

Hi!

You need a local or remote install of PowerDNS.

But ... we will be releasing an enhanced version of the script this autumn which supports our dns-servers.

So hosts without their own dns-servers can use our powerdns-servers through their WHMCS installation.

Cheers,

Hub

  • NOTES:
  • -Because this is a a beta, you can download it for free. The use of the script has been limited in time.
  • - Please note that releases in the future will be paid.

I'm interested but I'm more interested i how much its going to cost when you release it. I'd also be interested in buying source so I could expand on it, this way i do not have to worry about licensing crapping out me, bugs and timely patch releases etc.

Feel free to send me a private message concerning the above.

best,

Joe

On October 12th, 2011 we published a major release: v. 0.074 (beta).of PowerDns for WHMCS.

NEW: Auto setup of zone file before registering the domain (hook)

NEW: Support for the suggested 'constraint' database addon

NEW Added support for non-Jquery javascript frameworks (customer module)

Bugfixes (both customer and admin module)

The current release automaticly creates zonefiles (one sec before registering the domain name, only if domain is not available on PowerDNS) and includes aasy management of DNS-zones (both customer and admin modules).

The script also includes an advanced templating system, history file and domain management options.

This has got to be the worst add-on I have ever seen for WHMCS, I do not recommend that anyone thinks of buying it.

It totally breaks the menus in WHMCS admin portal, the client side does not work, input validation does not work, and the templates are completely broken.

Just a friendly note to anyone thinking of buying this.

We are very sorry that Tarquin is not satisfied with our add-on.We have spent four complimentary hours trying to sort his problem, after he applied for a trial license. At the end of this process it became clear there is a problem at his end. We take pride in our support. He is the only person with this issue. And I personally feel this 'review' does not represent us correctly.

I had the same issue with the admin menus being broken, BUT, this has been fixed in the current version. I would say they are pretty responsive and for my purposes there is only 1 issue outstanding.

The 1 issue I have, is that it automatically adds a pending domain product when a user adds a domain for DNS management. Hopefully they'll make that optional in the next version or place it in a "DNS management" only state as I cannot have domains being added like that. My guess is that's perhaps that's how they keep track of what user has which domains, but it would be easy to do that in a table.

Anyhow, other than that, I'd say it seems to work well.

Hi Hub,

I've just installed this addon and run through all the installation instructions and setting up a DNS Hosting product.

The issue I'm having is the product remains pending and never seems to actually provision.

Any ideas?

EDIT: this is the error I am getting in the activity log

" Module Create Failed - Service ID: 3 - Error: Function Not Supported by Module "

Hi,

Really finding difficulty in installing this module. Some stupid errors started after installing the module.. and again if disable this module then all such stupid errors goes off.. there will be no error if module is disable or removed. agian if install module and activate it then errors starts.. and infact this errors does not allow to do work.. for any activity carried in admin area gives blank page with lots of error.. again needs to go back by clicking browser back button..

logged complain with support but no response.. really finding difficulty will not recommend this module now.. its hard very hard to get support of content people..

Rather silly this. He logged a ticket yesterday. I tried to help and when this did not helped I requested login details to have a look and solve it. This last action was less then 24 hours ago.

My guess is, this guy is a bit impatient.

Not to be cynical, or to set the wrong support standard, but: last summer I had to wait more then two months before WHMCS came up with a fix for a bug in the software. That was stupid. This is not!

Cheerio,

Hub
