We improved ours by using the invoice number on "nosso número", this way we can tell at a glance to which invoice the paid boleto belongs to. Also we made it in a way that client cannot issue a boleto today and pay it after due date. If he pays after due date, it won't be accepted. He will have to generate another boleto and this one will include all late fees (2% a month + 0.34% a day). And if he pays after account was suspended due to very late payment, it will also include the reactivation fee.
